As an interior architect specializing in the design of hotels and restaurants, Achilles Kritikos presents a study he did, which concerns beaches, swimming pools and restaurants / cafes located inside hotels. It proposes the use of dividers, aiming at creating an elegant environment, providing a sense of security and at the same time the unhindered operation of businesses.

In the logic of approaching each issue from the perspective of a renowned professional in the field, Mr. Achilleas Kritikos, Interior Architect & Concept Designer, Owner of the Architectural & Interior Design Studio "The Interesting Design" by Achilleas Kritikos, submits realistic proposals for the layout of spaces of hotel.

After the -almost- global lockdown, the whole planet is looking for ways to walk calmly and safely in the era of Covid-19. The area that in the next period will function as a quick test, detecting the moods and psychology of the world, is that of tourism and catering. Questions about whether one would like to travel to a foreign country in the summer of 2020, visit organized beaches while relaxing on vacation or book a table in a restaurant, will be answered very soon.

In the face of this new challenge of our time, businessmen and owners are invited to offer the visitor solutions that correspond to the new reality, while at the same time making him rediscover his smile and his confidence in what is offered to him.

Privacy: a timeless desire of the visitor becomes a necessity

What is certain and given that it will apply in public areas, is the observance of the distances that have been announced. However, the addition of privacy is a factor that can only work positively in dealing with the new situation. According to studies that have been done in the past, the concept of privacy has always been high on the wish lists of visitors to luxury hotels, while it seems that what was once a desire, today is a necessity. The installation of dividers in the areas mentioned will be a welcome surprise for the visitor, who will no longer have to feel embarrassed or anxious with his neighbor. At the same time, however, the businessman will not need additional staff in order to monitor the observance of the safety distances between sunbeds, umbrellas and tables or to impersonate the "traffic warden" himself.

The proposed dividers are light, non-permanent constructions, which offer the owner the opportunity to adapt them to the style and aesthetics of his business.

Beaches

For the beaches are proposed: Separators from natural materials, such as wooden frames "coated" with reeds (wicker), in combination with transparent polycarbonate sheet or triplex glass that does not crumble. Other materials can be used in their construction, depending on the style of each space.
